Baby Lisa Irwin Missing: Parents Find First Birthday a 'Tough Day'

Missing baby Lisa Irwin had her first birthday today, with her family marking her birthday with a private gathering.

According to family attorney John Picerno, only close family members joined the gathering today for Lisa, who has been missing since Oct. 4.

Calling it a “tough day”, he asked media to respect the family’s privacy.

Her birthday comes just a day after her half-brothers were interviewed by child counselors. The two boys, ages five and eight, were in the house when their sister vanished. The interview “went well,” according to an FBI agent who observed the interviews.

Picerno also said Lisa’s parents Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin will not sit down for separate interviews as requested by the police.

“We’re not going to allow them to be subjected to interrogation techniques,” Picerno said.

He also said Lisa’a parents have already spoken to police for over 30 hours across five sessions. “This idea that they are not cooperating is just fantasy,” he said. “There’s nothing more to be said.”

Lisa was reported missing from her Kansas City home in the early morning hours of Oct. 4.

Jeremy Irwin was doing electrical work for a local Starbucks late that night. When he returned from work roughly around 4 a.m., he reported several lights on, the front door unlocked, three missing cell phones and a tampered screen window.

Upon checking his daughter’s crib, Irwin realized Lisa was missing and authorities were called.
