5. Don't wait until Cyber Monday to shop for deals.

MSN Money noted that while Cyber Monday sales offer similar discounts as Black Friday, items with the lowest markdowns are often sold out by then. The website also said that most retailers will offer their Black Friday sales online for shoppers who prefer not to venture out.

6. Many retailers make their return policies stricter during Black Friday.

While many believe that it is easy to return Black Friday items, MSN Money noted that many stories would not offer cash refunds. Retailers may only offer store credit even with a receipt. The website suggested getting a gift receipt to include with holiday presents so recipients have less trouble returning or exchanging sale items.

 7. The best deals may not be in Black Friday circulars.

MSN Money noted that many retailers, such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy, often have a number of "secret" deals that are not listed in their paper circulars but are listed on their websites. The website suggests going to retail websites on Thursday and taking note of the various hidden sale items before shopping on Friday.
