Blackberry 10 Sneak Peek Released

Research in Motion released a new video that gives smartphone fans a first look at the upcoming Blackberry 10 handset.

In the video, Blackberry enthusiasts get a sneak peek at some of the features that will be included in the device such as its unique touch-screen keyboard that provides the user with floating words to choose from when typing out the message. To truly understand this aspect, one must watch the video.

However, some Google+ users were not that impressed with the feature.

"The keyboard is hardly anything to tote," said Google+ user Kyle Mallory. "Only for the fact that Android can install any keyboard they want. A developer could make a keyboard like this or something like this, then BB10 [loses] in something only they have."

The Blackberry 10 sports a much different design from its predecessors. It actually resembles the iPhone 4 or 4S with a thicker body and fairly large bezels, minus Apple's trademark home button.

Aside from the keyboard and design, the Blackberry is shown performing some of the same tricks that can be done on an iPhone or Android device.

It still features Blackberry's trademark alert light in the upper right corner that blinks red when you have a message and blue when it is linking up to bluetooth.

To some, the device is a step in the right direction for the company, who has been on a downward spiral for quite some time.

"I'm glad to see them bring their A game," said Google+ user Jesse Esquibel. "Competition is a great thing and in the end, the consumer will win. So far, I like what I saw."

RIM failed to woo its audience with the release of new versions of the Torch, Curve and Bold lines.

Despite incorporating touch into many of the devices, the company still reported record losses this year.
