The Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros will come together again on Friday for Game 2 of the AL Division Series as the MLB Playoffs 2017 get well and truly underway with four games scheduled to take place today.

The Astros were ahead from the start, going 2-0 up after the first inning.
Even though the Red Sox managed singles in the second and fourth innings, they were never really in this one, and allowed the Astros to continually pile on runs through the innings.
The Red Sox will be up against lefty Dallas Keuchel, who has posted 14-5 and a 2.90 ERA this season. The 2015 American League Cy Young Award winner would easily have been penciled in for Game 1 by most at the start of 2017, but since Justin Verlander joined the team, Houston now have two ace pitchers, and that has given them flexibility to move Keuchel to Game 2, and if he can do the business today then the Red Sox will have a lot of work to do to get back into this one.
Meanwhile, the Red Sox will be sending Drew Pomeranz to the mound to try and get them back into the series. He has recorded a 17-6 and 3.32 ERA this season.
Overall, the Astros could not have hoped for things to go any better for them in Game 1, and they will want to maintain the momentum of that overwhelming win here today to go 2-0 up and leave them needing just a single victory more to progress in this season's MLB Playoffs.
