Britney Spears Bidding War: Las Vegas Hotels Fight for Star

Britney Spears is allegedly at the heart of a bidding war between three Las Vegas hotels.

Spears announced last week that she was quitting the "X-Factor" after just once season. Rumors surfaced later that Spears quit in anticipation of being fired.

"The addition of Britney never brought with it the ratings everyone had hoped it would," one insider told The Huffington Post last week. "She got a lot of buzz initially but it never translated into viewers. When you are getting paid $15 million, producers care about your ability to get people to watch."

Spears followed the announcement by revealing that she was in talks with Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Now, it appears that three different Las Vegas casinos have gotten tied up in a bidding war hoping to secure the pop star for a long term gig. The gig would run for "several nights a week on a regular basis" according to TMZ.

There has been no word as to which hotels are doing the bidding. But according to TMZ, Spears could make as much as $100 million a year, the same that Celine Dion did during her Las Vegas stint. Dion's contract included 210 performances over a 3-year period.

Spears may make even more though, according to Justice Entertainment Group. The former pop princess could make as much as "$2 million per week for a residency at a Caesar's hotel," according to E! News.

"Deals such as this are based on scale," Daren Libonati, president and COO of the promotion and production company, told E! "That's a very basic guess on what such a deal might look like. It could be even more."

While some critics say the "X-Factor" let go of Spears too soon, others theorize that performances in Vegas are a clear sign that Spears' career is over.
