'Captain America' News: Directors Reveal Steve Rogers No Longer Captain America
Captain America's symbolic dropping of the shield means something more, directors say.
"Captain America" directors, the Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony, bared on Wednesday that the dropping of Captain America's (Chris Evans) own shield in Marvel Cinematic Universe's latest saga, "Captain America: Civil War", is a sign that Steve Rogers was relinquishing his identity.
Fans remember how Steve Rogers gave up his shield on the last clips of the latest movie released by MCU. This left a lot of hearts broken as Rogers will now become a fugitive, who will let fellow prisoners escape jail and will hide in Wakanda.
According to Joe Russo, Rogers' giving up his hero identity is a huge hindrance to his personal choices.
Captain America to 'Nomad'?
What's next for Rogers? For one, he can be 'Nomad' in the next sequel. 'Nomad' is an identity he chose after getting discouraged with government movements during the Watergate era.
However, there's also a possibility that this is not the total ruin of Captain America.
Not the end for Captain America
One of the writers, Christopher Markus, also shared that a huge purple guy who will become the Avengers' challenger in the sequel.
The big guy is Thanos. He is expected to wreak havoc in the "Avengers: Infinity War". With such an enormous guy to deal with, the pack may need Captain America's aid once more.
Russo brothers answer sequel speculations
Besides the confirmation of Captain America's estrangement from the team, the Russo brothers also gave away important information that will pique the curiosity of the fans.
One is the involvement of Spider-Man in the "Captain America: Civil War" movie.
They hinted at how this will also affect the next roundup of the Spider-Man's follow-on. The directors vaguely implied the involvement of the other Spider-Man character in the next "Avenger" movies.

To deny earlier speculations, they said that the upcoming "Spiderman: Homecoming" movie title has no connection withBucky Barnes' (Sebastian Stan) "homecoming" trigger words for Winter Soldier.
Release dates
The movie "Captain America: Civil War" is set to be distributed on Digital 3D, Disney Movies Anywhere, and Digital HD on September 2. It will also be available on DVD, On-Demand and Blu-ray upon its release on September 13.
