'Castle' Season 8 News: New Season Will Return Earlier Than Expected In 2016
Fans of the long running ABC show "Castle" will be delighted to know that the series is not going to take a long break and will return a month earlier on Jan. 4, 2016. Viewers also know that Rick and Kate will be back together as a team so it is a double delight.
Previously it was reported in September by TVLine that the show will be on an extended break till February. But now, it is returning a month earlier.
ABC has not given any reason why "Castle" will return a month earlier. It might be to keep viewers interested now that Rick and Kate will get together in the season finale that will air on Nov. 23.

The present Season 8 of "Castle" was beset with controversies. First of all, viewers did not like Rick Castle and Kate Beckett splitting up and Kate contemplating divorce. The reason for the split is quite unconvincing. Kate distanced herself from Castle so that no harm came to him as she took on the LokSat / Bracken (Jack Coleman) case and went undercover without informing Rick.
Secondly, the drama parts in the episodes were reduced and more of the episodes this season followed the police procedural format. This was not liked much by fans of the show who were riveted by the interesting dynamics between Rick and Kate.
This week on ABC, the much hyped "Castle" fall finale will be aired and it is named "Mr. & Mrs. Castle." The synopsis is very brief and states: "Castle and Beckett investigate the murder of a cruise ship entertainer, only to find themselves trapped at sea with the killer."
The title points to a much awaited reunion between Kate and Rick. But their reunion is set against the backdrop of a thrilling case where the couple are trapped on a cruise ship as they attempt to catch a murderer.
Viewers know that Rick and Kate will reunite but they are waiting to see how this will play out.
"Castle" Season 8 finale airs on Nov. 23 on ABC.
