'Castle' Season 8 Recap and Spoilers: Castle Tries to Win Beckett Back

The most recent episode of the ABC series "Castle" saw an array of events that did not fail to excite fans.

The previous season showed Nathan Fillion's character, Rick Castle, trying hard to win back his wife Beckett, played by Stana Katic.

However, he also saw himself having to handle a new case that centered on a murder. The case focuses on Dave Johnson, played by Jeff Davis, who was shot dead at a church. Apparently, he was shot while praying at the altar and asking forgiveness for his sins.

The first suspect for the murder was a janitor. However, it was evident that the janitor had no reason for killing Johnson, which had Castle investigating further.

Castle then learned that Johnson was also interested in the writer P.J. Moffat, who happened to be the author of Castle's most favorite novel. With that, Johnson planned to use the case in order to bring himself closer to Beckett.

He then got Johnson's wife, Wendy, as a client, which let him involve Beckett thoroughly into the case. Unfortunately, she kept busying herself into the issue concerning the Bracken drug ring.

Meanwhile, there were reports that Beckett will not be as present in some episodes of the series. According to Ausello from TV Line, fans will not see her as much in the episodes to come.

It was said, "I'm hearing that a late fall episode — most likely the Nov. 9 installment — will be very Beckett-lite. As in she will, at best, maybe-possibly be in one scene. ABC declined to comment, but my guess is Stana Katic had an "out" in her contract so she could be here."

This has made fans wonder just how her relationship with Castle will continue.

"Castle" season 8 airs every Monday.
