Charla Nash Pictures Reveal Amazing Recovery From Chimpanzee Attack (PHOTO)
Charla Nash pictures have revealed the amazing recovery of the woman whose face was torn off by a chimpanzee following her surgical procedure.
Nash was attacked by a pet chimpanzee belonging to her friend, resulting in most of her face being badly damaged.
She received a new face earlier this year following a landmark face transplant performed by a team of top surgeons.
Nash has emerged in the public eye on NBC’s Today Show Monday, where she explained how she is getting her life back to normal.
The 2009 horror chimpanzee attack left her with a damaged face as well as ruining her eyesight and tearing apart her hand.
Although doctors originally tried to recover her face and hands, only her face procedure was successful, and her hand had to be removed. Doctors have said that they would be able to again attempt surgery on her hand in the future.
As her face continues to settle and heal over time it is expected that her base bone structure will become increasingly visible. Nash’s bravery and positive outlook has been an inspiration to thousands who have followed her story.
