Chely Wright Twins Welcomed, Country Music Singer 'Thriving'
Country music singer Chely Wright and her partner Lauren Blitzer welcomed identical twin boys on Saturday.
The 42-year-old singer gave birth to the twins in New York City, her representative told People magazine.
"We are grateful for all the amazing medical care and the love and support of family and friends," the pair said of their growing family.

Inspired by the names of each of their great-grandfathers, the women named their twin boys George Samuel and Everett Joseph and the infants are "thriving," according to People.
Wright, who starred in the 2011 documentary "Wish Me Away," has been with Blitzer, 31, for almost two years. The pair announced the pregnancy in January.
"We feel lucky and ready to take on the challenges," Wright said during an interview on the YouTube series Gwissues.
The new mom is best known for her hit songs "Shut Up and Drive" and "Single White Female," and the singer has released a total of seven studio albums.
Wright revealed her homosexuality in May 2010. The singer is also an author, and penned a memoir "Like Me" in the same year.
"Country music has been described as being about God and family and country," Wright said during a past appearance on "The Today Show."
Wright is also very open about what life is like as a homosexual in the country music community.
"Country music would rather an artist be a drunk … They would rather you were a drug addict than be gay," said the singer speaking to the Los Angeles Times in 2011.
