'Chicago P.D.' Season 3 Episode 8 Spoilers: Squad Sets Off To Investigate The Death Of A Government Official

NBC's hit police-procedural drama TV series "Chicago P.D." Season 3 returns this week with a brand new episode that will see the squad dealing with a complicated murder case which involves the death of a government official and an impending drug trade.

According to the synopsis provided over at The Futon Critic for the episode titled "Forget My Name," the Intelligence Department will get wind of an upcoming drug trade. The partners Antonio and Halstead will set off to investigate the tip and perhaps quell off the illegal trade. But their mission takes a turn for the worse when, as it states in the summary, a mutilated body is found at the scene. And to make matters worse, upon further investigation, they are shocked to learn that the body they found belongs to a government official.

Olinsky, Ruzek, Lindsay, and Halstead get into the details of the crime. They will find out that the man has access to "very important devices." What secrets could the government official hold? In what way does the man become fatally involved in a drug trade? Will the team be able to piece together the puzzle and apprehend those responsible for the crime?

Further details given by TFC say that Burgess will lend a hand making plans for a surprise party intended for Platt.

In related news, a report from Deadline cited NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt confirming the renewal of "Chicago P.D." together with its sister show, "Chicago Fire," for a fourth and fifth season, respectively. The network executive further announced the upcoming spinoff series of the two aforementioned shows titled "Chicago Med." The latter program is slated to premiere Nov. 17.
