Cohen 'Dictator' Trailer Pokes Fun at Tyrannical Leaders

The trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest movie, "The Dictator," is being released in May by Paramount Pictures and places the comedic actor in the role of a flamboyant ruler who comes to New York.

The tagline for the film reads: "The story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed." Cohen’s character, General Aladeen, a tyrannical leader of a fictional third-world country, is said to offer commentary on the recently toppled regimes of Lybia's Muammar Gaddafi and Iraq’s Saddam Hussein.

As per his comedic style, Cohen makes fun of everyone and everything that comes across his path – he calls America "the birthplace of AIDS," and compliments an escort by telling her she is "less hairy" than Kim Kardashian. Similar to his other movies, "Borat" and "Bruno," Cohen creates a bizarrely funny situation out of a serious world issue, and the preview begins with actual footage of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton talking about an unidentified dictator that needs to be taken down.
