Conor McGregor Fight News: UFC Execs Guarantee 'The Notorious' Will Be Back After UFC 200

On April 20th, reigning UFC featherweight world champion Conor McGregor posted a tweet about intending to "retire young".

However, he retracted the said tweet a few days after through a lengthy Facebook post, where he also explained his side of the story regarding his removal from his headline bout against Nate Diaz at UFC 200 on July 9th in Las Vegas.

The entire back-and-forth between the UFC and Conor McGregor concerning UFC 200 has gone a long way. So much so that "The Notorious" even made some more noise through a single tweet once again, claiming that he was back on the card.

"Happy to announce that I am BACK on UFC 200! Shout out to @danawhite and @lorenzofertitta on getting this done for the fans. #Respect," McGregor's tweet posted on April 25th reads.

The UFC immediately refuted McGregor's tweets, saying it was not true. And on Wednesday during the UFC 200 pre-fight press conference at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, it was all settled and made official: McGregor is indeed out of the card, and the new headliner would be a light heavyweight title rematch between undisputed champion Daniel Cormier, and interim champion Jon Jones. As for McGregor, the UFC has guaranteed that he will be back some time this year.

According to company president Dana White, the brash Irishman will be back in action in no time, after UFC 200.

"Listen, Conor's going to fight again," White said. "He's going to fight at UFC 201, 202, 203 – whatever the deal might be. "We'll see … what's next when that plays out. But (UFC) 200 is the fight everybody's been looking to for a long time."

"It is what it is," he continued. "The show's going to roll on, and Conor will fight again."

As for McGregor's supposed opponent Nate Diaz, he would be taking some time off for a while.
