'Criminal Minds' season 13 Episode 5 Spoilers: Garcia Experiences Emotional Meltdown

Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) will reach her boiling point in the next episode of "Criminal Minds."

In the episode titled "Lucky Strikes," the synopsis reveals that Garcia will experience an anxiety attack when a case close to her heart is reopened. As BAU's technical analyst grapples with the trauma of her past, an old friend will return to lend her the emotional support that she needs. Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) will drop by his old workplace to cheer up his "baby girl," hoping to assure her that everything is all right.

The promo shows the happy reunion of the two friends. Garcia is ecstatic that Morgan has come back to see her. His presence could not have come at a better time since a case the BAU will handle will have a huge effect on Garcia. In the clip, an old crime appears to be reopened when new evidence surfaces. While the rest of the team look rattled with the sudden turn of events, no one is more distressed than the analyst. Morgan is there to hug her and tell her he will always be with her.

In a March interview, Moore said that leaving the CBS series was bittersweet for him. He spent more than a decade with the rest of the cast and crew, and he was sad to go. Moore also said that he was especially wretched to leave his tandem with Vangsness. Their characters have always been close. Viewers were fascinated with the pair's dynamics. When Morgan left BAU, it took a while for Garcia to adjust to the change.

"Of course I've missed it!" Moore said. "I was so blessed to do 11 years on Criminal Minds and bring Derek Morgan to life. Flirt with my original 'baby girl' Penelope Garcia, chase all the UnSubs and bad guys and kick down doors. I miss it, but one door closes and another one opens."

"Criminal Minds" season 13 airs Wednesdays, at 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
