Blackguards 2 Release Date: Daedalic Entertainment Reveals Launch January 2015

Daedalic Entertainment has just announced the release date for "Blackguards 2," a sequel for the first turn-based strategic RPG, "Blackguards." The game is set to arrive on the PC and Macintosh January 20, 2015.

Pricing and availability is placed at $30 in Steam, GoG, and major online stores.

"Blackguards 2" is based on an RPG rulebook of The Dark Eye, a tabletop RPG created by Germans Schmidt Spiel & Freizeit GmbH and Droemer Knaur Verlag in 1984. Being of German make, The Dark Eye sold more than the more widely known Dungeons & Dragons.

Daedalic Entertainment has mentioned that they have been listening to fans and implemented feedback they received from the first game. The team has added, according to them, "desired features," "unique enemies," and "improved gameplay."

"In Blackguards 2, battles will be even more epic, with their handling being significantly tweaked to make them more straight-forward, but also more challenging. Players can test just how fun these new features are in Blackguards 2 from January 20th onwards," the company wrote.

While the game devs have promised improved gameplay, the sequel will most likely feature similar turn-based strategy gameplay where characters take turns performaing actions against enemies on hex-tiled grids.

The first "Blackguards" game is currently on sale on Steam, going at 66% discount putting at less than $8. IGN had also rated the game 7.8 out of 10 saying, "Except for its muddled progression system, tactical RPG Blackguards gets a lot of things right."
