Denzel Washington Divorce Rumors Denied Amidst Cheating Allegations

Denzel Washington is shooting down rumors of his divorce despite recent reports accusing the actor of cheating on his wife.

The Oscar Award-winning actor and his wife Pauletta Pearson have been married for 30 years, with their wedding anniversary having just passed last month.

However, Washington and Pearson reportedly spent their milestone anniversary apart. Nevertheless, a representative for the actor spoke on his behalf about his marriage this week.

"They are not divorcing, not separating," the representative told GossipCop.

Hearsay about Washington and Pearson divorcing mounted when Star magazine reported that the actor had been caught cheating on his wife.

The report claimed that the "Training Day" star was seen kissing another woman and that Pearson had "moved to New York to contemplate" their marriage.

Still, a source close to the couple said that the report was "nonsense," according to GossipCop.

Earlier this year, Washington and Pearson sat down with Ebony magazine and discussed their marriage. The actor revealed that he and his wife "go through ups and downs just like any couple," but that divorce was not in the cards.

"I live with this man," added 62-year-old Pearson. "I see the down part. I see the sad part. I see every part. He has and knows he has the stability in me as his wife. That's what gives him his strength, regardless if he misuses it."

Meanwhile, Washington has admitted that he does not have many actor friends because he and his wife are mostly just social with fellow parents.

"Actually, even within the industry, I don't have any actor friends," explained the actor, according to The Guardian U.K. "My friends are old friends."

"When you have children, the other friends become parents," Washington later added. "My wife and I were raised right. I don't want movie-star friends."
