The Cardinals come into this game on 4-9 and are pretty much guaranteed to finish bottom of the NFC West now.

Alarm bells will be ringing among the Cardinals staff and players. Although team president Michael Bidwell confirmed that no evaluations would take place until after the season, you can be sure that coach Ken Whisenhunt and others are anxious about their positions now, and will be hoping to bounce back this week to spark an end of season run to erase the memories of the Seahawks debacle.
The Lions are also on 4-9 and are also bottom of their division – the hugely competitive NFC North. The Lions come into this game on the back of five straight defeats, the most recent of which was a 27-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Even though the Lions have lose five in a row, they have not been as bad as that record suggests. They were within a touchdown of the Packers last week, and lost by just two the previous week against Indianapolis. Prior to that they pushed the Houston Texans all the way, eventually succumbing 34-31. On Nov. 14 they again lost to the Green Bay Packers by just four points.
The Cardinals will be looking to bounce back from last week's humiliation and could be dangerous, but if the Lions can get on the board early, then the Cardinals' players heads could drop quickly.
