He was reportedly shot multiple times on the west side of Detroit on Monday. Authorities found gunshot wounds in Doughboy Roc's right ear and shoulder.

Police continue to investigate the shooting. As of now, they have not been able to discover the motive behind the killing. They also have no suspect yet.

Residents were surprised to learn of the artist's death. Speaking to CBS Detroit, a local admitted that everyone did not see that coming.

"They couldn't believe that someone they knew from the neighborhood, who also is famous and young, had been found dead in his car," the resident told the press.

When word of Roc's death spread, family, friends, and fans started to gather at the scene. Douraid Karim owner of Big Daddy Liquor store was forced to close down his shop for the day because of the commotion.

Detroit-based rap group Doughboyz Cashout is composed of two crews: Cashoutboyz and Doughboyz. Payroll Giovanni, HBK, and Chaz Bling are among the members of the first crew while Roc, Crispy Quis, Clay, Bmo Maine, and Doughboy Dre made up the second group.

Roc's solo work includes "Ghetto Testimony," "Beastmode," and "Loyalty is Everything." Just last month, he released a song titled "Roc Vs Balboa." It features some of his crew members as well as Band Gang Paid Will.
