The last time that the characters were seen was when they were all dealing with each other's individual problems at the time of the zombie apocalypse. Travis went off with his son, Chris, who was not well.

Furthermore, Nick (Frank Dillane) has gone to a sudden twist after he met Celia (Marlene Forte). He came to believe that these zombies were a representation of life in a different dimension. In the end, he left his family and decided to become a zombie cult leader.

Showrunner Dave Erickson noted that the mid-season premiere will have the explanation on why Nick made the decision to walk away and be with the walkers. He stated that there is something with Nick which will make viewers understand why he went off. He also added that Nick's character will connect with someone once the series will premiere.

Nick's withdrawal symptoms

However, with that statement, what Nick has in his hands are drugs based on the video trailer. It might be that Nick will suffer more withdrawal symptoms once the mid-season kicks off. He might go on searching for more drugs and will finally hit rock bottom.

Furthermore, the characters will eventually meet new friends along the way as their individual journey continues. Aside from meeting new friends, each of them will also meet enemies who will give them challenges. The people will act with more violence and things will get messy. There will be those who die and those who survive. After all, "Fear the Walking Dead" has always been about surviving.

In the midseason premiere, the world will seem to expand for the characters. Now that they have different journeys to unravel, it will be more challenging for each character. Surviving will be a big part of each individual. In the end, the strong will linger.

The second season of "Fear the Walking Dead" will continue on August 21, 2016 and will air on AMC.
