'Fortnite Battle Royale' Releases 1.8.2 Patch: New Season Shop, Drop Items, and More Now Available

"Fortnite Battle Royale" has been updated with patch 1.8.2. A new season shop, items, weapons and more are now available in the game.

Servers were down on Wednesday around 9 a.m. GMT for maintenance. Though it took several hours, it was worth the wait, as the latest patch, 1.8.2, came with significant fixes as well as new items, some of which are only attainable through chests and supply drops.

One of the new items is a new bush camo, which is essential to those who want to roam around undetected. It is a rare one-time use item, which gets destroyed if players take some damage.

After a few finishing touches to the season shop, which needed a few fixes upon its launching, it is now available. "The season shop has come out of hiding and is now accessible for all players. Check out whats in store!" Fortnite wrote.

It should offer gliders, outfits, and harvesting tools. To attain new items, players must continue to level up.

New changes made to the game include the Pump Shotgun falloff damage. Developers have adjusted the stats: 100 percent damage is now at 7.68 meters, while 70 percent is at 18 meters, 20 percent is at 30 meters, and 0 percent at 41 meters.

The studio has also changed the amount of time it takes to wield or lower weapons. Before it took 0.25 seconds, now it takes 0.4 seconds to raise a weapon and 0.45 to lower it.

Furthermore, the developers fixed a few bug, one of which used to leave weapons without ammo when picked up. They also removed a recoil bug that made aiming upwards faster than aiming downwards.

In terms of performance, they have resolved multi-second hitching and freezing issues noted on consoles. They have optimized visibility calculations for objects and shadow rendering to improve overall performance.

Epic Games' action building game is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One Consoles, on PCs and Mac in Early Access.
