'Frozen 2' Spoilers, Release Date News: Scriptwriting Taking Longer Than Expected?
It looks like it is taking the writers longer than expected to put together a script for "Frozen 2." The last update for the film was provided by voice cast member Kristen Bell back in September.
In an interview with Collider last year, the actress, who plays the role of Princess Anna, hinted that the script was, almost complete around that time.
"We haven't, actually. I thought we were about to start recording, but I was mistaken. So, we haven't begun yet. They're putting the finishing touches on the script," Bell explained.
This suggested that much of the scriptwriting work on "Frozen 2" is complete and that they are simply making sure that it is up to par. However, this is actually the tricky and time-consuming part.
There is a massive pressure for "Frozen 2" to deliver seeing that it will follow up the highest grossing animated film of all time. Bell knows this very well, so she understands why the script is taking so long to complete.
"They are not rushing the script. They have the luxury to not rush because everyone is going to be excited whether it comes out tomorrow or in five years," the actress told IGN.
"They're making it as perfect as they need it to be and we're on call to start recording whenever," the "Bad Moms" star went on to say.
The lack of updates five months after Bell's revelations give fans the impression that there is still a long way to go before the recording for "Frozen 2."
As she suggested in the Collider interview, the cast and crew will likely get to work after the script is all done. However, with no news about that yet, it looks like writing is still being done.
Apart from the script, fans can imagine the work being put into the music, a crucial element in "Frozen 2" and one that made the first film more memorable.
The people behind the movie would want to make another song or two that will match, if not top, "Let It Go" by Idina Menzel.
For now, fans will just have to wait until official details come in. "Frozen 2" is expected to be out by 2018 though. To help get them by, Disney is releasing a Christmas special called "Olaf's Frozen Adventure."
