Galaxy Nexus Release Date: More Ice Cream Sandwich Smartphones Prepare for Launch

The Galaxy Nexus is expected to launch this month, and will be launched with Android’s latest operating system, the Ice Cream Sandwich.

However, for those waiting to get their hands on an Ice Cream Sandwich device, the Galaxy Nexus is not the only option.

GizmoCrunch has also indicated that numerous other devices with carry the OS: the HTC Edge, HTC Villa and ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime are all expected to be released with the Ice Cream Sandwich.

The HTC Edge will feature a Tegra 3 processor, a 4.7-inch 720p Super LCD with optical lamination display, 32 GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM, microSIM slot, 8 MP rear shooter capable of filming in 1080p, 720p front camera, Beats by Dre Audio, Bluetooth 4.0, an 1800mAh battery, NFC and ICS.

The HTC Edge is rumored to launch early 2012, according to the GizmoCrunch.

The HTC Ville, expected in April of 2012, will include the follow specs: a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 8 MP rear shooter, HSPA+ and a 1650mAh battery.

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be the first tablet to be released onto the market that includes a quad-core processor.
