Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat Update Leaked

The Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat update has leaked in the form of a new ROM.

Sam Mobile posed up a leaked version labeled N9005XXUENA6 for the phablet and describes it as one of the final Android 4.4.2 KitKat test builds for it. This basically means that nothing will be excluded or included in future builds of Android 4.4 aside from some bug fixes and other small improvements.

The site also confirmed that Samsung would be rolling out the official update in one to two weeks.

Unofficial ROMs should be downloaded with caution as they can sometimes void the warrantee or cause owners to lose their settings and other software.

The first credible Galaxy Note 4 rumor surfaced last week revealing that the next-generation model could feature a three-sided display.

Samsung's Executive VP of the mobile division Lee Young Hee recently interviewed with Bloomberg and confirmed that the new device could feature this type of advanced display thanks to the company's closer relationship with Gorilla Glass maker Corning.

An earlier patent application submitted by Samsung also pointed to the company going with this three-sided touchscreen.

Samsung's 2014 flagships which includes the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 could also end up featuring chips with 4GB RAM.

Last month the company announced the development of the industry's first 8GB LPDDR4 mobile DRAM chip which is denser, faster, and more energy efficient than any of the products currently found on the market.

The new memory chip is built on a 20-nm class process which allows manufacturers to reach a capacity of 1GB of RAM on a single die. Smartphone makers will be able to give their devices 4GB of RAM by combining four of these chips.
