Bloys further stated that the network will take lead from the showrunners on the best version of the series. He also added that he would want more seasons if the showrunners are good with it.

Furthermore, Bloys added that the number of episodes that the eight season will have is still to be determined, but talks on having a spinoff for the series is open. He noted having a spinoff is still one of the considerations and if it makes sense to them then definitely they will begin the production.

With the eight season to be the last for "Game of Thrones" it is best to look back on the characters that viewers will miss.

Characters We Will Miss

1. Eddard Stark

Eddard Stark will definitely be missed. He appeared in the first season and was the head of House Stark. He was also Lord Paramount of the North which is one of the constituents of the Seven Kingdoms. House Stark rules the region of Winterfell, thus Eddard also had the title as Lord of Winterfell. As a man of principle, patient and noble and with a huge sense of duty, Eddard Stark will be remembered as an honorable man with moral character at heart.

2. Hodor

Originally named Wylis, Hodor is a character from the first, second, third, fourth and sixth seasons. He is a simple-minded servant in the House Stark who is working in the stables. Hodor has a happy demeanor and at most times, he is happy with simple things. Though a man with his size and strength, he is a gentle soul and is very loyal to the Starks.

3. Rob Stark

Who can forget Rob Stark who broke his promise on marrying one of Walder Frey's daughters and instead of doing so he ended up marrying Talisa which then will haunt him at the infamous "Red Wedding"?

4. Prince Oberyn Martell

Another character that will surely be missed once the series is over is Prince Oberyn Martell. He was first seen in the episode "Two Swords." Prince Oberyn Martell was a member of the House Martell who ruled Dorne. He is also known as the Red Viper of Dorne.

5. Jon Snow

And of course, who can simply forget Jon Snow. A major character in the series, he was presented by Eddard Stark as his bastard son when Eddard returned home from Robert's Rebellion. Jon was not actually Eddard Stark's son but the child of Eddard's sister, Lyanna Stark. Jon Snow is known to have a good moral compass and a true sense of honor.

"Game of Thrones" Season 8 is confirmed to be the last season of the series but before the show will come to its final run, "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will premiere in the summer of 2017.
