'Game of Thrones' Season 5, What to Expect According to the Books

Season 5 and season 6 for "Game of Thrones" was commissioned by HBO on April 8 earlier this year. The fifth season is currently in production and is set to premiere in April 2015.

The fifth season will be comprised of material coming from George R.R. Martin's fourth and fifth novels in "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "A Feast for Crows," and "A Dance with Dragons" respectively. Althought events taking place in season 5 might be taken from both books simultaneously.

As for what to expect in the fifth season, the fates of a lot of characters are unknown (for those who haven't read the books at least) and fans are anxious as to what will happen to characters like Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, and Daenerys Targaryen.

Season 4 ended with the death of the Hand of the King, Tywin Lannister in the hands of his own son, Tyrion Lannister. The fan-favorite character, Tyrion, barely managed to escape King's Landing and fled to Essos.

Queen Regent Cersei Lannister had to contend with the Tyrells in order to hold onto the power she currently holds.

Jon Snow on the other hand is still at the Wall where he has to deal with Stannis Baratheon and the Red Woman, whom have only arrived.

Daenerys Targaryen, now Queen of Meereen, has difficulty adjusting to her newly acquired role.

With everything that has been happening in the world of Game of Thrones, the fates of the Stark children have been mostly forgotten. The older sister Sansa, has gotten herself involved with the schemes of Littlefinger while residing in the Vale.

The younger siblings, Arya and Bran have begun forging their own paths as well, with Arya in Braavos and Bran slowly learning new knowledge from the Three-Eyed Raven.
