'GTA 5 Online' Updates, Release Date: Anti-Cheats Will Be Included in Bug Fix

"Grand Theft Auto 5" (GTA 5) finally has a new bug fix (v1.29) for the the last-gen consoles.

According to International Business Times, the Freemode Event update for Xbox One, PC, and PS4 immediately came after Rockstar Games revealed that new updates will no longer be made for last-gen consoles. The new update apparently includes a series of anti-cheat fixes that have been rampant. However, clarifications were made that the 1.29 patch is simply a hotfix. The update should also be downloaded separately and then installed manually via Rockstar game servers.

Rockstar Games, however, does not mention what the bug fix actually includes on its support page, but a known YouTuber, with handle name MrBossFTW, reveals how this update gives Rockstar a better look at all the moves made by players. This poses a problem for gamers who have been using cheat fixes in the past, as Rockstar will now be able to monitor their actions as well as the game stat-altering mods. It will also fix some glitches that players have been able to take advantage of since the release of GTA 5, such as the money glitch and car duplication exploits. It is also reported that another bug fix that fans are quite aware of is the "ability to spawn random items such as cars, planes, and weapons at predestined locations in the game."

The 1.29 patch was obviously released in order to correct all glitches that many have come to use to go around the game. It is said that this release will also permanently stop modded objects from appearing in unusual GTA Online locations. Some examples of these are massive crates inside garages and giant windmills, as well as UFOs that suddenly appear.

Although the developers are obviously targeting to end the different forms of cheating in GTA Online 5, it is expected that hackers and other gamers will continuously find ways to go around this bug fix and use the cheats they have been using in the past.
