'Hell's Kitchen' Season 17 News and Updates: TV Show Gets Two Additional Seasons; Casting Calls Ongoing

Auditions for Hell's Kitchen Season 17 have started last September 12

Fox Network has decided to keep "Hell's Kitchen" running for another two seasons. The network announced their decision on Friday, including the upcoming auditions that will take place this month.

"Hell's Kitchen" Season 15 has earned a whopping 1.7 rating from ages 18-49, according to Nielsen. It also ranked 74th in all broadcast primetime entertainment shows. Reports say that over 5.03 million viewers still follow the show up to this day.

The show has been a contributing performer for Fox Network's Friday shows line up.

It is produced by Gordon Ramsay, ITV Entertainment, Arthur Smith, A. Smith & Co. Productions and Kent Weed.

Casting Calls Schedule

Producers of the show have also announced the schedule of the casting calls. They were in New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles yesterday. Meanwhile, aspirants who are in Dallas and who live near Illinois Institute of Art can expect the "Hell's Kitchen" team on September 16.

This time though, they are raising their benchmarks. Contrary to previous episodes where they gave chefs with no experience to join the show, right now, they are hunting for head chefs and line cooks with several years of experience.

Those who are interested should be at least 21 years old to be able to join the contest.

Season 16 Updates

"Hell's Kitchen" Season 16 will feature 18 contestants from New York and Pennsylvania who will go under Gordon Ramsay's rough and controversial mentorship.

Recently, Ramsay received criticisms from Le Bernardin Chef Eric Ripert who said that Ramsay's style of humiliating chefs should not be tolerated nor be shown on TV. With chefs already being on a hot and tight working environment, chefs do not need another demanding element to add to the already-stressful situation, Ripert added.

Despite this recent commentary about the Master of Hell's Kitchen, Gordon Ramsay, and all of the 18 contestants seem to remain unfazed.

Shaina Hayden, Rajeeyah Gia Young, Aaron Smock, Pat Tortorello, Kimberly-Ann Ryan, Paulie Giganti, Heidi Parent, Jessica Boynton, Kimberly Roth, Heather Williams, Genaro Delillo, Andrew Pearce, Matt Hearn, Wendy Mendez, Koop Wynkoop, Aziza Young and Johnny McDevitt are the selected chefs who will compete in Season 16.

"Hell's Kitchen" Season 16 is slated to air on September 23 at 8 PM.

Cash prize and a head chef position in Gordon Ramsay's Yardbird Southern Table and Bar await the champion for this season. The said restaurant is located in The Venetian Las Vegas.
