'House Of Cards' Season 5 Spoilers: Will Claire Underwood Succeed Her Husband's Presidency?

Netflix's original programming and hit political drama series "House of Cards" ended its current Season 4 with a very intriguing note and now fans are left with so many speculations that are yet to be answered in the show's upcoming Season 5. Among theories going on around the fandom points out to the possibility that Claire could be the next president of the United States next to her husband, Frank Underwood.

The report from MStarsNews.com stated that the next installment might take away the spotlight from the power-hungry politician and put it on his wife.

Citing their sources, the publication said that his grueling medical condition might force the POTUS to abdicate the office and perhaps be replaced by his VP. For those who missed it, Season 4 saw Frank shot by Lucas. If not for the liver transplant, he could have been dead. However, the new transplant caused him so much pain as his body adjust to the new organ.

A wild theory from Romper, meanwhile, pointed out Claire breaking the fourth wall which only Frank could do until that moment. At the season finale, she turned to the camera and seemingly looked straight at the viewers. Could this be indicative that the woman will be taking the protagonist role in the series?

The fact that she is now the second in command of the whole country further suggests that like her husband, she too has an insatiable hunger for power. It would be interesting to know at what lengths the first wife and at the same time, VP, can go in order to realize her plans. Frank did unimaginable things to stay on top of the chain, will Claire follow suit?

Given that their relationship has already been strained to a greater degree, it wouldn't come as a surprise that either one of them will pounce at each other.
