'Indiana Jones' 5 News, Cast, Spoilers: Harrison Ford Willing to Return as Indiana Jones

Despite the character's popularity, "Indiana Jones 4" did not reach the expectation of studios. However, this did not stop rumors of a fifth installment from circulating. Now that "Indiana Jones" star Harrison Ford is under the spotlight because of his recurring role as Hans Solo in the new "Star Wars" movie, many can't help but wonder if Ford himself will be up to take the project of "Indiana Jones 5" once more.

According to Ford's interview with Entertainment Weekly recently, it seems that the 73-year-old actor is definitely still up for the part. He shares, "Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'd love to do another Indiana Jones. A character that has a history and a potential, kind of a rollicking good movie ride for the audience, Steven Spielberg as a director — what's not to like?"

It seems that it isn't only Ford who's willing to return, as director Steven Spielberg had previously expressed that he will be likely directing the project once more, as well as Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy already confirming that it will happen at some point. The only question now is when, as both Spielberg and Lucasfilm have their hands tied with a string of "Star-Wars" episodes, and by the time they are already available, it would be a question of whether Ford would still be able to perform the said role.

This news triggered a string of reaction from netizens, mostly telling Ford that it is perhaps time to call it quits on the role. Although many point that it's not about Ford's age, but rather needing a fresh face to take on the iconic character that will transition well to the current generation. It is also said that if the new movie does get the ball rolling then it would definitely be a good idea to take a step back and see what could be improved on as the last movie's narrative had been far from entertaining.
