'Injustice 2' News: Hellboy to Debut in the Game on Nov. 14
While Hellboy is already expected to stage a comeback via a rebooted movie that will feature "Stranger Things" actor David Harbour in the titular role, the character will first make his presence felt via a game as it has been announced that Hellboy is debuting in "Injustice 2" beginning next month.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Hellboy will be introduced as a downloadable character for the hit NetherReal Studios game, "Injustice 2," on Nov. 14. As seen on the trailer that announced the arrival of the said character to the game, Hellboy challenges the might and force of the other characters in the game, specifically Atrocitus, Cyborg, and Scarecrow. The same trailer also shows that, with Hellboy's trademark revolver and comically oversized Right Hand of Doom, he can easily defeat his above-mentioned challengers.
Apart from teasing how easy it is for Hellboy to defeat his opponents with his brand of fight, the trailer also teased what "Injustice 2" fans can expect from the character's bombastic super move, showing that he's capable of taking his opponents to hell and back, just like what he did to Atrocitus in the trailer.
Hellboy will be the third and last character to arrive via "Injustice 2's" Fighter Pack DLC (downloadable content), which earlier ushered Aquaman nemesis Black Manta and "Mortal Kombat's" Raiden into the game. Those who purchased the game's Ultimate Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, Injustice 2 Ultimate Pack, or Fighter Pack 2 can download the character beginning November 14. Those who are not qualified for a free download of the character can purchase it for $5.99 beginning Nov. 21.
"Injustice 2" was released in May this year, and is considered to be one of the best fighting games ever released. Some opine that it is the fighting game counterpart of "Destiny" and has been lauded for its rich content.
While the game is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for now, a PC version is expected to arrive soon.
