Intel Reveals a Breakthrough Chip for Gamers
Gamers will now have an improved gaming experience.
Intel recently unveiled a new technology that will upgrade the typical desktop CPU.
The new 10-core CPU was revealed, using the Core i7-6950X. The update is expected to maximize the multi-tasking capacity of a computer. Along with that, Intel revealed several other devices to join their new line such as six-core, eight-core and 10-core processors.
According to PC World, this includes the newly unveiled 14nm deca-core Broadwell-E Core i7-6950X. The new CPU is said to attract gamers, as it is expected to bring a 30 percent increase in performance compared to the previously released chips. Aside from that, the new chip is said to be 25 percent faster than the previous i7 updates geared for gaming. It will also improve the capabilities of 4K video editing. The new 10-core processor is expected to run at 3 GHz and will be able to reach 3.5 GHz with the help of the Intel Turbo Boost Technology 3.0.

The new update will allow applications to perform at their highest speed. This will bring a significant improvement in different aspects of the new device. In the new chip, the 40 PCIe lanes are expected to connect to the CPU. It will bring an updated SSD storage as well as the Thunderbolt 3, enabling an easier way to connect several subsystems while still bringing a speedy performance.
Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Intel Gregory Bryant told The Inquirer, "With the Intel Core i7 processor Extreme Edition, we've built a monster platform. It will transform the way people play, work and create. Just as consumers are expanding what they do with their PCs, the Intel Core i7 processor Extreme Edition delivers a new level of capability, now with up to 10 cores of mind-blowing performance."
In addition, Bryant explained that the device will enable "mega-tasking," which will push the capabilities of the computer beyond what is available now.
"It's designed not just for multi-tasking, but for mega-tasking. Enthusiasts expect to push their systems with multiple compute-intensive applications at the same time. That's exactly what we've delivered," Bryant said.
This will make the processor compatible with the new trends in gaming such as virtual reality devices like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The new processors are tagged rom $587 to $999, depending on the graphics capability.
