iPad Air 2 Release Date Set for Oct. 16

iPad Air's rumored reiteration will be the iPad Air 2. Despite its suggested name, the purported tablet is actually the Cupertino-based would-be sixth generation full-size device to put in the growing tablet market.

While fans are already salivating and excited to get their hands on the latest sequel, it has been announced by Tech Radar that the device won't come out to stores until November.

Although, subsequent reports from PC Advisor pointed out that Apple has already been sending invites for the special unveiling event which will take place this coming Thursday, Oct. 16. According to the site, the launching will be held in a smaller venue compared to what have been used in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus unveiling event.

Reports still indicated that the date will also see the updates on other rumored Apple products such as the Apple TV and the iMac.

Early rumors perpetuated by KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the new iPad Air will arrive with an Apple A8 processor. However, a recently leaked photos released by Apple.club.tw showed the iPad Air 2 donning a brand new and more powerful A8X processor.

Sources for Taiwan's TechNews also tell that iPad Air 2 will have twice the amount of RAM than its predecessor.

As with the camera, TechRadar again cited Ming-Chi Kuo saying that the upcoming device will sport an 8MP back-facing camera, while it would be 1.5MP for the front snapper.

It also goes without saying that the new tablet from Apple will run with the latest iOS 8 with an overhauled design and platform theme.

Still, there have been talks pointing out about the display size of the alleged device. It is said that it will have a 12.9-inch 2K or 4K resolution screen, a big leap from the previous 9.7-inch screen size.
