iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Rumors: New Phones Shipping Out This Week?

Rumors surrounding the ship-out of the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have been circulating online, with a late September target eyed at the earliest.

A status update on the Apple Online Store has put shipment of the company's new flagship handsets, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, at September 25, less than a week from today.

With speculations arising the new phones would only begin shipping out by Black Friday on November 27, a notice reading "Preparing for Shipment" appeared on the Cupertino, California tech giant's site, informing US customers of the Friday delivery schedule via FedEX or UPS.

With preorders already having piled up in the last two weeks, Verizon and T-Mobile, both Apple carriers, are expected to ship orders by Thursday, with customers receiving them the following day when the worldwide launch of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is scheduled to take place.

The September 25 ship out date is also expected to be delayed in Philadelphia and New York owing to Pope Francis' papal visit set for the following week.

Preorders for the new phones started coming in September 12, Pacific Time from all over the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Germany, France, and New Zealand, as well as China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Puerto Rico.

While the standard model is expected to arrive Friday, most of the 6s Plus and Rose Gold iterations may be looking at three to four-weeks shipping time, arriving by mid-October.

Customers also have the option to stand in line at an Apple Store in their area when the September 25 launch date arrives. However, as is usual when Apple first puts a new product on sale, there will be long lines during launch day, with Apple employees expecting customers to camp overnight outside stores the day before.

Apple's new iPhone line is expected to go on sale Friday at 8:00am on a first-come-first-served basis for customers who have not made prior reservations.
