Is the Marvel Universe Next for Jennifer Lawrence?

Jennifer Lawrence is no doubt one of the best young actresses of today. Her impressive resume, which includes an Oscar-winning performance in "Silver Linings Playbook," is also heightened up with heroine roles as Katniss in "The Hunger Games" franchise and her portrayal of the younger version of Mystique in the "Xmen: Days of the Past" trilogy. Now news is going around that she might actually be boosting her career to its maximum peak, as Marvel is rumored to be eyeing her for a role.

The speculation going around is that Lawrence is the number 1 choice for the role of Captain Marvel. Although this hasn't been confirmed yet, Spinoff took the liberty to ask the 25-year-old actress about this and her thoughts on joining her previous and future co-stars, Bradley Cooper and Chris Pratt, in the Marvel Universe "Sandbox." Well, yes! I would love to play in a sandbox with those two!" exclaimed Lawrence. The young actress is also set to star alongside Cooper in the movie "Joy" while she will be acting with Pratt in the science fiction movie "Passengers." It is understandable how excited Lawrence is to be with both actors at the same time.

Many have assumed that since Lawrence did not completely shut down the question that she is instead just playing coy about her involvement in the movie. Although many fans feel that Lawrence is a good choice for Captain Marvel, there are some hesitations that perhaps her role as Mystique will overshadow her future role as Captain Marvel, if she does take on the role.

During the interview, Lawrence also expressed how thoughts on her current recently ended role of Katniss, saying, "I think Katniss is the best female character, ever." Perhaps her commitment to this character will definitely leave an impression that coudl potentially hold back the Captain Marvel franchise. Lawrence has also mentioned before that she is not fond of superhero movies and this may come across while portraying a classic Marvel superhero.

For now, fans will have to await news on who will finally star in "Captain Marvel" as there is plenty of time until its 2018 showing date.
