There have been recent reports that Jane (Gina Rodriguez) will no longer retain her purity by the end of the upcoming season. In fact, showrunner Jenni Snyder Urman stated that she did not want to have Jane lose her virginity in the season premiere. She further explained that the show, however, is not intended to be all about Jane's virginity. She also admitted that Jane will no longer be a virgin by the end of the next season.

Furthermore, Jane's mother, Xo (Andrea Navedo) might want to have her pregnancy terminated. Aside from the fact that the father of the unborn child is the enemy of Jane's father, her pregnancy was also unexpected. There are also reports that Xo may not push through with the abortion just the same as to what she did with Jane during her teenage years. Xo conceived Jane at a very young age but still decided to keep her.

In the Season 2 finale, there were a lot of events that happened especially during Jane and Michael's wedding. Michael was shot by Susanna thus giving a new meaning to what might happen to Jane in the third season.

More To Be Expected

Urman has reported in an interview that for all episodes of the series, there has to be balance in the life-changing events of the characters. This is to give fans something to look forward to on the next episodes to come.

She also added a note on keeping Jane's virginity throughout the season and that the female lead character will be happy in the end whether it is a traditional ending just like in a fairytale.

Additionally, Urman stated that the next season will center more on growing up and what it means in doing so. She added that the questions on Xo's pregnancy will be revealed on whether she will keep the baby or not.

"Jane the Virgin" Season 3 will be released on October 17, 2016 on CW Network.
