Jason Aldean, Kristen Bell Named CMT Awards' Hosts

Jason Aldean and Kristen Bell have been selected to host this year's CMT Awards, the network announced on Sunday.

Bell is an actress best known for her role in the film "Forgetting Sarah Marshall, while Aldean is one of country music's biggest stars.

"I had so much fun hosting the CMT Awards last year, so I was thrilled to be invited back this year," said Bell in a statement. "I think Jason Aldean is one of country music's best and promises to be an excellent co-host."

Furthermore, Aldean noted his excitement about the awards show.

"I'm always looking for new challenges," said the "Truth" singer. "Hosting a show has always seemed fun, but it has never felt like the right time. I think now that I've checked a few big things off my bucket list recently; I want to keep pushing myself."

The 36-year-old singer also joked about his hit single "Big Green Tractor" when referring to his co-host.

"I'm excited that I'll have Kristen to lean on, too…," Aldean added. "She and I have spent a little time together, and she always cracks me up. Plus, I heard she's got a thing for 'Big Green Tractors,' so we've got that in common."

The CMT Awards recognizes the best in today's country music during an annual ceremony taped live from Nashville, Tennessee.

This year, the ceremony will take place on June 5 from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Nominations for the 12th annual show will be revealed on Monday, along with announcements about performers and presenters.

Meanwhile, Aldean has recently suffered a blow in his personal life. He and his wife of 12 years filed for a divorce last month.

"This is a really tough time for my entire family," Aldean said in a statement, according to ABC News. "Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We've been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our #1 priority."

The 36-year-old singer is best known for his songs "Fly Over States" and "Don't You Wanna Stay," among many others.

Alternately, Bell has also seen a change in her family. The 32-year-old actress and her fiancé, actor Dax Shepard, welcomed their first child in March. The couple are parents to a daughter, Lincoln.
