Jay Cutler Mailed Engagement Ring to Kristin Cavallari

Kristin Cavallari admitted that the second time she and fiancé Jay Cutler got engaged was "silly."

Cutler, the quarterback for the Chicago Bears, apparently sent Cavallari's diamond ring to her through the mail.

"It was so silly," explained the bride-to-be while speaking to E! News. "I was in the airport, leaving Chicago. We had just spent however many days together and we were texting and somehow it came up, like, 'Oh, shall we get married?' We're like, 'Yeah, ok.' And then he sent my ring in the mail."

The engagement conversation took place after having called off their first engagement in July 2011. Cutler and Cavallari announced that their engagement was back on in November of 2011.

"So I actually had my ring sitting at home for a couple of weeks before I put it on," Cavallari added.

Shortly after the couple announced that they were back together, the pair confirmed in January 2012 that they were expecting their first child. They welcomed their son Camden Jack the following August.

Meanwhile, the former "Hills" star revealed that "the wheels are in motion" when it comes to the wedding.

"We actually have a date," said Cavallari, according to E! News. "But we're not, you know, telling anyone the details."

One thing is certain: Cavallari insisted that the wedding would not take place on she and Cutler's son's birthday, August 8.

Also, Cavallari and her fiancé have agreed on several details and "know where, we know the colors, we have people booked" for their upcoming nuptials.

As for the guest list, the 26-year-old said, "I'm hoping to keep it around 160 [people]."

Alternately, NFL star Cutler, 29, has said that he does not play a major role in the wedding plans.

"I'm just kind of along for the ride," said the quarterback, according to the ESPN Chicago radio program "Waddle & Silvy."

"I don't really make a lot of those [logistical] decisions," he continued. "I hear about them in passing … or if I have to write a check."

Cutler noted, "Whatever [Cavallari] wants to do, I'm on board."
