Jon Hamm of 'Mad Men' Blasts Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton

"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm has blasted "stupid" celebrities of today such as Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton in an interview this week.

The actor discussed celebrities and the culture in Hollywood while speaking with Elle U.K.

"We're at a place where the idea of being 'elite' is somehow considered a negative," said Hamm. "Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated."

Hamm blasted the reality television stars, and added how he feels that "being [an] f------ idiot" is something that earns people acclaim in today's society, whereas intelligence does not.

"Incuriousness has become cool … It's celebrated. It doesn't make sense to me," said Hamm.

Hamm portrays Don Draper in the hit television series "Mad Men." Speaking about the upcoming fifth season of the show, Hamm said fans should expect some surprises.

"I think it will be a surprise and I think people will be pleasantly surprised and excited to see it," said the actor, according to CBSNews.com.

The two-hour long season premiere of "Mad Men" will air on AMC March 25 after almost a year and a half hiatus. The show airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST.

The highly-anticipated fifth series will see the Emmy Award-winning cast that includes January Jones, Elizabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks, and John Slattery.

Hamm has also made appearances on "30 Rock," "Saturday Night Live," and lent his voice to "The Simpsons."

The actor received a Golden Globe Award for his role as Draper on "Mad Men."

In the 1960s-set series created by Matt Weiner, socials mores of the era as well as the changing moods are highlighted. The series has received critical acclaim, especially for its historical accuracy and cinematography.

"Mad Men" has received multiple awards including 15 Emmys and four Golden Globes. The dark drama has a strong following, and the series have even inspired a clothing line at Banana Republic.
