Kat Von D Removes Jesse James Tattoo, Tweets Laser Removal [PHOTOS]

Kat Von D is removing the Jesse James tattoo off her rib cage over a year after the couple's breakup.

On Dec. 7, Kat Von D posted a photo of a laser beam removing a tattoo of young James, along with the caption: "AND SO IT BEGINS! First round of tattoo removal well underway! :) #freshstart."

Apparently, one year and a relationship with DJ Deadmau5 later has changed her mind about her the tattoo of her ex-James' face. Last year, when Kat Von D and James broke up, she said she would never remove the James tattoo because it had "a lot of meaning."

But it appears Kat Von D is not having second thoughts about the tattoo removal, posting an Instagram photo of "All About Tattoo Laser Removal."

A tattoo artist, Kat Von D made it big when she appeared on the show 'L.A. ink.' She was previously engaged to Jesse James, who was dumped by actress Sandra Bullock after he was caught cheating. In July 2011, Von D also ended things with James over his cheating.

But it will take at least five to 15 laser sessions before Kat Von D can be completely rid of the tattoo of James' face.

James, meanwhile, as moved on and got recently engaged to Paul Mitchell heiress Alexis DeJoria.

Kat Von D was dating DJ Deadmau5 but has since announced their breakup.

On Twitter, she wrote: ''Man, I sure was wrong. But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off. #lessonlearned. / Now, we can get all of the 'I told you so's' outta the way ... And move on. (sic).''

DJ Deadmau5 also confirmed the split with Von D on his Facebook page.

''Going to spend a little while screwing my head back on. i guess im not cut out for relationships right now. And that's all i really wan't to dwell on it right now. ill figure it out. no hard feelings. (sic)

He also took responsibility for the breakup with Kat Von D, saying: ''it happened too fast, i lost my balance and fell into a familiar dark place that im having difficulty with. she deserves someone stronger... ... and thats it for the personal stuff... on with our regularly scheduled deadmau5 crap. (sic).''
