Kate Middleton Pregnancy News: Duchess Uses an Unusual Remedy for Severe Morning Sickness
Prince William shared what Kate Middleton resorts to when her severe morning sickness attacks.
The Duke of Cambridge revealed what remedy the Duchess uses to address her Hyperemesis Gravidarum now that she's pregnant with her third child.
While having a conversation with 98-year-old Iris Orrell at an awards ceremony at the Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund, Prince William revealed that Duchess Kate uses ginger to somewhat remedy her pregnancy symptoms.
"Ginger biscuits — but there's not much ginger can do to stop that. We've done all that," revealed Prince William, according to Today's report.
Apparently, Orrell also experienced Hyperemesis Gravidarum, so the Prince asked if the condition worsened every time she got pregnant. Orrell confirmed that it did and that her doctor told her to have "dry biscuits" to help alleviate her symptoms.
Hyperemesis Gravidarum causes severe vomiting about every 10 minutes for several weeks, resulting in nausea, loss of weight, and imbalanced electrolytes.
However, this isn't the first time that Duchess Kate experienced Hyperemesis Gravidarum. She also went through the severe type of morning sickness during her first two pregnancies. The first time Duchess Kate had it while carrying Prince George, she was brought to the hospital for immediate care.
The Kensington Palace first announced last Monday, Sept. 4, that Prince William and Princess Catherine are expecting their third child.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child," the post on Twitter reads.
But because the Duchess was already experiencing symptoms from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, she needed to back out from appearing at a scheduled engagement at the Hornsey Road Children's Centre.
The Duchess also missed Prince's George first day of school because of her severe morning sickness.
Orrell wished Duchess Kate to feel better, to which the Prince acknowledged and confirmed that she has been doing better since.
