Kim Kardashian Divorce: Reality Star Still Talking to Kris Humphries

Reality television star Kim Kardashian has been in contact with her estranged husband Kris Humphries despite announcing their divorce Monday.

A source close to the recently-single newlyweds told RadarOnline, “Kim and Kris have spoken on the telephone, and are frequently exchanging text messages on their BlackBerrys.”

Kim and her sister Khloe Kardashian spent a couple of days in Australia promoting a line of hand bags, but the distance did not prevent the drama surrounding the celebrity.

The insider added, “Kim is absolutely numb and was truly surprised and shocked at the backlash she has gotten since she decided to file for divorce.”

Kim is scheduled to return to Los Angeles Friday amid what is expected to be a media firestorm.

Kardashian was married to former NBA player Humphries for only 72 days. Kardashian explained her decision in a statement Monday.

“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage,” said Kardashian. “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”

E! had featured a two-hour television special in October on the nuptials between Kardashian and Humphries – “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event,” and fans widely believe that it was all for the show.

The network said that any accusation that the lavish wedding was orchestrated for publicity or money “is completely false,” and affirmed that the Kardashian wedding event was real.

“The Kardashians have authentically lived their lives on camera for a long time and Kim’s wedding is one of the many real-life events that the family has shared with viewers,” E! said in a statement.
