The LA Dodgers and the Houston Astros are set for a pivotal game tonight in Game 3 of their 2017 World Series as things move to Texas with the series currently locked at 1-1. The game has a scheduled start time of 8.20 p.m. ET and takes place from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. The game can be watched on TV on the Fox network, or online through live stream (details below).
Game 2 saw this World Series explode into action and was a game to remember as the Astros squared the series back to 1-1 by outlasting the Dodgers through 11 innings.
A World Series record was set in that game, with an extraordinary eight home runs hit in one night, with each team smashing four. However, it was the Astros that edged things 7-6 to tie the series.
Everyone will be hoping for more of the same tonight for Game 3. However, the Astros will be confident as they have bee outstanding at Minute Maid Park through the postseason.
Houston won both games against the Boston Red Sox here in the ALDS, and also took down the New York Yankees four times at Minute Maid Park in the ALCS. So they will certainly feel they have nothing to fear from anyone in front of their home fans.
The Astros will be sending out Lance McCullers Jr. to the mound for Game 3. He has a 7-4 record with a 4.25 ERA this season, but through the postseason he has raised his game, pitching 13 innings with an ERA of just 2.08 and a 0.85 WHIP.
He will go up against Yu Darvish in tonight's game. Darvish went through the season 10-12 with a 3.86 ERA, and like McCullers has been much better during the Playoffs, posting an impressive 1.59 ERA and a 0.79 WHIP through his 11.1 innings. Amazingly he has posted a 14-1 strikeout to walk ratio, which you don't get to see too often!
