'Law and Order SVU' Season 17 Episode 6 Spoilers and Recap: Amanda Makes a Difficult Choice
In the upcoming episode of "Law and Order SVU" entitled "Maternal Instincts," the official synopsis reads, "A violinist is raped by her colleague, who doesn't remember committing the crime and claims he was drugged and robbed by a hired escort. Meanwhile, Rollins' mother throws a baby shower for her; and Sgt. Mike Dodds reports to work at the SVU squad."
In a preview for the episode, it seems that the fans will get to meet Amanda Rollins' mother, her sister, as the former throws a baby shower for her daughter. Amanda has a different relationship with both women.
In a promo for the episode, Amanda will discover that her sister is a suspect in their case and this will force her to make a difficult choice of family or justice. Amanda warned her sister, while Olivia asked her where her sister is.

In the previous episode, it began with Olivia and Fin as they arrived at a crime scene where a woman was raped in her apartment and when her husband arrived home he was also attacked by the assailant. The woman was named Mrs. Harris and she panicked when she realized that her daughter Sophie was missing.
Olivia found the little girl and both women were sent to the hospital. Mr. Harris gave the cops a description of the rapist and he believed that it was the push-in rapist that was behind the attack. The push-in rapist has been terrorizing the neighborhood and Mr. Harris' brother who was a cop warned him about the said rapist.
Later on, three police officers shot a black man, who they claimed was reaching for a gun. The black man whose name was Terence was the supposed suspect in their investigation. As it turned out, Terence was unarmed and he was merely reaching for his keys when he was shot.
One of the officers, a man named Doom, stopped shooting when he realized that Terence was unarmed. A clear video showed that the officers shot Terence nine times. The two officers were charged with murder, while Doom was charged with reckless endangerment.
"Law and Order SVU" airs every Wednesday.
