There is talk that Season 5 will feature the return of an old character, but whoever it is, is something that's best left for viewers to speculate. As a matter of fact, Kate Sackhoff hinted via Twitter that there will be someone who's making a comeback. Although it's impossible to figure out who it might be, fans of the show are hoping it would be Omar. It is a longshot for Branch to make a comeback because his storyline has ended with the creators of the show killing off his character. On the other hand, Zachary is the character who's pretty difficult to revive since the actor who plays the role, Barry Sloane, is currently in high demand with several other projects.

Finally, another reason to be excited about the new season is that there seems to be an inclination towards adding a new character in the series. Young actor Sterling Beaumon himself announced that he will be part of a fifth season and that he's signing up for a recurring role. The 20-year old already has a lot of TV exposure in the past couple of years, having appeared in Criminal Minds, Law & Order SVU, and Clue. He also had a brief role of a young Benjamin Linus in ABC's Lost.

There still is no official date for the airing of the first episode of the fifth season, but it is likely that it'll be somewhere between September and October, based on the date of the airing of Season 4's first episode last year.
