'Longmire' Season 6 Spoilers, News: Cast Set to Kick Off Filming This Month

The cast and crew of "Longmire" season 6 are hard at work these days. Filming is about to kick off soon and the show is preparing for its sixth and final installment. The pressure may be on the showrunners' shoulders as fans eagerly wait for the end story of Walt Longmire.

In January, actress Katee Sackhoff revealed that filming will kick off sometime March 2017. Sackhoff, who plays Vic in the series, did not provide specific dates. However, it is expected that production will begin anytime soon.

While Netflix has already announced that "Longmire" season 6 will be the last of the series, some fans are hoping that the streaming giant will change its mind. It turns out that fans are now more interested in the series than before. This is because of the changes in the storyline as well as the shocking twists at the end of season 5.

Fans are particularly eager to see if Vic and Walt (Robert Taylor) will end up as a couple when the series finale arrives. Viewers have always been rooting for the pair to become lovers. However, things seemed to always come in their way.

Vic, in particular, appeared to have strong feelings for Walt. However, it appeared as if Walt shrugged Vic's feelings off. As fans know, Walt was recently romantically involved with another woman. Hopes for a Vic–Walt romance were only fueled again in season 5, when Walt ended his relationship with Donna (Ally Walker).

Meanwhile, Carter Matt notes that television viewers need "Longmire" season 6 more than ever. The outlet points out that since the world is currently at a cynical time, it needs a show that will make people feel better after watching one or two episodes.

"Longmire" season 6 is expected to deliver satisfying stories for fans of the show who have been following the series since the beginning. Netflix has yet to officially announce the premiere date of the new installment.
