The Clippers already clinched their spot in the post season as they are fourth in the Western Conference with a 45-27 standing at the moment. Their most recent win over the Denver Nuggets sealed their spot in the playoffs and secured the top four spot in the competitive conference.
On the other hand, things are not yet set in stone for the Celtics but sitting fourth in the Eastern Conference already almost assures them a spot in the playoffs.
The only thing they are battling for right now is the placing and they will need to continue their excellent run to keep the top four spot.
At 43-30, the Celtics are one of the more surprising teams in the season as no one expected them to reach where they are right now.
Isaiah Thomas has also been a big factor in their improvement this year, as the All-Star has shown he is worth being gambled on and has repaid the Boston faithful with big plays.
In their first and only game so far this year, the Celtics beat the Clippers 139-134 in a very high scoring affair.
Boston needed to make a late run in the game to force the matchup to go to overtime where they eventually outscored the Clippers 17-12 to get the win.
The two point guards from either teams put on a show as Chris Paul had 35 points, 13 assists, 5 rebounds and three steals for the Clippers.
However, Thomas answered back with 36 points, 11 assists, four rebounds and a steal to help give the Celtics the win.
