Off-Broadway, Keflin appeared in "Salvation" before she appeared in films "A Perfect Couple," "A Wedding," and "A Star is Born."

Similar to many Hollywood starlets, Keflin's career also spanned to television. The actress appeared in "The Doctors," "Playing for Time," and "Gentlemen Bandit."

While little is known about her death, Heflin came from a storied background in acting. She was the niece of Oscar Award-winning actor Van Heflin as well as actress Frances Heflin who appeared on "All My Children."

Furthermore, Heflin was a favorite of legendary director Robert Altman. The actress was also a friend of Al Pacino's.

The obituary published in The Times encouraged mourners to donate to animalhavenshelter.org in Heflin's name and noted that a future memorial service will be announced.

"A kind and sweet women," wrote online reader Gloria. "She will be missed."

Twitter user Yetta added, "Marta Heflin has passed away. She was a neighbor and when we bumped into each other we had the most interesting conversations. RIP Marta."

Meanwhile, Keflin's death occurred almost one year to the date that actor Herbert Lom died. Czech-born star died at age 95 in London on Sept. 27, 2012.

The actor was best known for his role as Charles Dreyfus, the irritable boss to Peter Seller's detective Closeau in the "Pink Panther" series.

His son, Alec Lom, said his father died in his sleep peacefully at home, according to the Associated Press.

The London-based star worked alongside icons such as Kirk Douglas, Stanley Kubrick, and Charlton Heston and appeared on over 100 films over the course of his six-decade career.
