Melissa Joan Hart: Kissing Ryan Reynolds and Joey Lawrence Was Awkward
Melissa Joan Hart is not afraid to shed light on her controversial past and is even naming names in her memoir, "Melissa Explains It All." The actress described some of the awkward moments she had summoning the courage to kiss her co-stars.
In an act of "kissing and telling," Hart describes exchanges with celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds, Jerry O'Connell and James Van Der Beek, among others.
"He had these big hands and shoulders that completely swallowed my petite frame," the actress penned of her "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" co-star Reynolds, according to the Huffington Post. "It was a terrific distraction from how strongly he smelled of hair product."
As for her co-star Joey Lawrence on the sitcom "Melissa & Joey," Hart said kissing scenes were more difficult.
"Joey Lawrence uses enough lip balm for both of us, creating such a thick barrier that there's hardly any skin-on-skin contact," the actress included in the memoir. "It's hard to get turned on when it feels like you're kissing one of Madame Tussaud's wax statues."
Based on the television show "Clarissa Explains It All" which starred Hart in the early 1990s, "Melissa Explains It All" goes on to reveal actress' early career in Hollywood as parties and affairs with co-stars.
"I experimented with weed, Ecstasy, mushrooms and mescaline for about a year and a half," the once-squeaky clean star admitted while speaking to Life & Style.
"I was kind of running with a bad crowd," she added. "I just didn't enjoy taking drugs. I don't like the loss of control."
Today, Hart is 37-years-old and married to Mark Wilkerson, with whom she shares three children.
The actress is not the only Hollywood personality to come forward with surprising revelations about stardom. Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, Kate Beckinsale, and Sally Field have all admitted struggling with anorexia in the past, while a slew of other stars have admitted to addictions.
Melissa Joan Hart's book came out last month.
