Memphis Grizzlies vs. San Antonio Spurs: Preview

The second-seeded San Antonio Spurs will be looking to solidify its place in the Western Conference standings, as they take on the fifth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies, next.

The game will be taking place on Friday, March 25th, at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

The Spurs and the Grizzlies have already met twice this season, with the first encounter happening on November 21st. In the said game, San Antonio ended up as the victors via a ten-point margin, with a final score of 92-82.

Then enjoying a four-game winning streak, the Grizzlies were simply outplayed by the Spurs, who then called themselves as a "building" team. Forward Kawhi Leonard was the top performer for the team, scoring 19 points, along with seven rebounds and three assists, shooting 5 out of 15 from the field, through 40 minutes of playing time.

Hotshot guard Tony Parker also put in good numbers for San Antonio that night, piling in 18 points and three assists, on 6 out of 10 field goal shooting, through 31 minutes of playing time.

The second game happened on December 3rd, with the Spurs putting on a dominant performance once again.

San Antonio's main key to victory was their shooting percentage during the night, logging 50% from the field, and 55.6% from beyond the arc. Once again, Leonard was the main man for the Spurs, scoring 27 points, along with eight rebounds, three assists and through steals.

He was on fire with his shots himself, shooting 9 out of 13 from the field, and 7 out of 9 from the three-point area. LaMarcus Aldridge piled in 18 points, along with four rebounds, shooting 7 out of 14 from the field, through 32 minutes of playing time.

With a current record of 60-11, the Spurs are coming into the game holding a two-game winning streak. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, hold a record of 41-31, and have lost three of their last five games.
