Mike Tyson Warns 50 Cent About Boxing Promotion Difficulties

Former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Mike Tyson had some words of wisdom for rapper 50 Cent, who recently announced his decision to break into the boxing world by starting a promotional company with longtime friend Floyd Mayweather Jr.

During an interview with Entertainment Sports Radio, the boxer addressed 50 Cent's new venture with Mayweather Jr. called The Money Team Promotions company.

"I wish 50 Cent the best of luck in the world with the endeavor that he's doing, but this is something that 50 Cent has to know when you're dealing with something like boxing you're dealing with human beings," Tyson said. "We call it peddling the flesh. Even though you're paying them, you're still dealing in flesh."

Tyson feels that the sport that he once shined in has become so corrupt that the government should step in to manage it. He also claimed that 50 Cent's new company with Floyd Mayweather Jr. could take a toll on his career as a rapper.

"50 is a rap star, 50 is an entertainer, 50 is an entrepreneur," said Tyson. "He really doesn't really know the ins and outs of boxing. He probably knows what Floyd tells him, but once he gets in this arena, everyone that was ever his friend on the other side is now his enemy."

Along with becoming a boxing promoter, 50 Cent also plans to release his next studio album titled Street King Immortal in November.

The rapper recently released the first single from the album New Day that features Alicia Keys and Dr. Dre.

The album will also have an appearance from his labelmate and longtime collaborator Eminem.

This will be 50 Cent's last album in his original contract with Interscope Records, making him a free agent after its release.
